Your role

You will be a part of a dedicated corporate finance team of 15 experienced and proficient colleagues. The team is responsible for internal and external accounting, reporting, tax, treasury, and financial investments for VKR Holding A/S. They provide support and advice to our business areas in the VELUX Group, DOVISTA Group, and the venture fund KOMPAS.

As Head of Accounting you will oversee all aspects of accounting operations in VKR Holding A/S. This includes tasks such as managing financial records, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulations and accounting standards, overseeing budgeting and forecasting processes, coordinating audits, and providing financial analysis and guidance to senior management.
The team also operates as back office function for Group Treasury, Financial Investments, the Employee Foundation, VKR Invest, Kompas Management and KOMPAS Ventures.

Your task will primarily be:

  • Responsible for valid and efficient processes for reconciling monthly and annual accounts
  • Preparation of year-end audit and annual report
  • Ensure accurate reporting and compliance of VAT and taxes in accordance with applicable legislation
  • Manage internal financial processes with diligence and accuracy
  • Prepare annual financial statements for Employee Foundation, VKR Invest, and KOMPAS Ventures

In addition to the obvious daily operational tasks, you will continually contribute your knowledge and ideas on how processes and workflows can be optimised through automation. While we love our tasks, we also greatly appreciate automating our ongoing operations to free up time for development tasks. On an ongoing basis, you will also participate in cross-functional projects in finance.

Your profile 

The ideal candidate has a strong background in internal accounting and the various disciplines related to it. You understand the value of a well-functioning accounting department, as many colleagues rely on timely deliverables and responsive support.

By nature, you are proactive and see opportunities in both people and deliverables. You think pragmatically and deliver with the right quality. You have an eye for creating an inclusive and positive work environment. Since the team is the focal point for many internal deliverables, you demonstrate a strong spirit of collaboration and a customer service mindset and has a ‘can-do-attitude’.

Relevant financial education (such as auditor, cand.merc.aud., or HD-R accounting) and min. 10 years of practical experience are required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and proficiency in using Monday.com for documentation purposes are preferred but not required.
